Camp Tons 'O Fun (Comcast Xfinity)
MOTION GRAPHICS / ART DIRECTION / GRAPHIC DESIGN / ANIMATION
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Xfinity has opened a summer camp that is ‘tons of fun’ – Camp Tonsafun! From learning how to tie-dye to building an epic obstacle course, new lessons will be available every week right at home on X1 and Flex. Learn more below, and get ready for a summer to remember!
Camp Tonsafun: What is it?
While most summer camps are closed this year, we’ve opened one— right in your living room! Camp Tonsafun is a virtual summer camp destination that teaches kids about arts and crafts, fun experiments, music, cooking and sports.
Your kids can catch sports tips from world-class athletes, get hands-on with arts and crafts, take music lessons and more. It’s all led by our Camp Director, Jade Catta-Preta (also the host of E!’s “The Soup”) and camp counselors from our NBCUniversal family, Team USA and other valued partners. Learn to animate a Minion with Illumination and Brad Ableson, co-director of Minions: The Rise of Gru, be a smart ninja with Jessie Graff from American Ninja Warrior, make a magnificent mango dessert with Carmen Aub, actress from El Señor de los Cielos, and more!

Some examples
The project required a quick turnaround creating motion graphics for these videos so I had to figure out some short cuts in AfterEffects using scripting.
This particular video was challenging because syncing animation to video in AfterEffects can be pretty tricky. I think it came out well here.
This was a fun video to do because it required doing light character animation of some of my favorite characters.
I love the family aspect of this video and the fact it reminded me how crucial videos like this are to give families options to cope during these times.

CREATIVE PROFILE
Anthony Tyrone Howard, Owner
DIGITAL CREATIVE DIRECTOR, VISUAL ARTIST & ILLUSTRATOR
I’m dedicated to solving business and creative problems using a combination of digital and traditional tools.
I’m a visual problem-solver, business designer, and creative technologist. I help companies and organizations transform their ideas into influential products and services. I have years of diverse experience. I started my career as a Flash animator but over the past 20 years, I’ve worked within the realms of online education, commercial advertising, branding design, interactive development, pharmaceutical marketing, STEM program development, graphic novel illustration, and game design.
I understand the power of data and the potential impact of emerging technology in marketing, media, and education. For the past several years I’ve dedicated my time to working with communities to bring technology into the classroom. I co-founded Creative Tech Works™ in North Philadelphia, a STEM program whose mission was to produce socially conscious, diverse tech talent.
Our partners included Google and The School District of Philadelphia. I wrote the programs’ curriculum and developed several demonstrations and events, including an interactive race through the city, using apps and wearable tech created by the students of the program. I believe humanity has only scratched the surface of how integrated communication technologies, paired with passion and artistic instinct, can transform how we tell stories. I seek to create stories that can connect brands, organizations, and individuals with audiences in increasingly meaningful ways.
